Youth Courses 

Youth courses at the Oii focus on the concepts of STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Robotics, and Mathematics. And let's not forget that Arts is equally important in learning and innovating.  Oii courses are all about inspiring and empowering our next generation of inventors.

Our Young Innovator STEM+A courses are designed for a wide range of age and skill levels.Our instructors are seasoned professionals who are passionate about Making and Creating and also must pass a criminal record check. Courses are 'term-based' including spring, summer, fall, and winter.

When registering, we do require payment to hold your child's spot. Registrations and course payments can be made on-line or in-person.  Full refund can be provided if notification is given at least 5 days prior to the course start date. Check out our programs below!

Young Innovator STEM Course 

  • Dates and age level to be announced
  • Description: Aspiring Makers unite! Over the course of the 4 month term, students will develop skills in electronics, robotics, and coding via a wide range of fun and innovative projects. This is the perfect environment to spark your youth's excitement for STEM+A (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Arts). Our project-based curriculum gently moves youth beyond their comfort zone in a collaborative environment where they can fail safely, build confidence, and learn new skills in real-world experiences. The challenges and projects invite youth to think in terms of "the art of the possible", to explore problems creatively, and to identify innovative solutions.
  • Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Coding, Robotics, & Engineering

  • Dates and age level to be announced
  • Description: Throughout the term youth will have the opportunity to develop skills in coding, engineering, and robotics through a variety of fun and innovative projects. ​​Through this 4 month term students learn to: use Java-based Editors and compilers; identify variables and data types; use arrays, loops, and if statements; recognize classes and constructors; utilize the principles of object-oriented programming; use logic and code skills to solve programming challenges
  • Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Advanced Applications in Coding 

  • Dates and age level to be announced
  • Description: This advanced level course builds on foundational skills in coding, engineering, and robotics. ​​Throughout the 4 month term students will utilize Java-based Editors and compilers; identify variables and data types; use arrays, loops, and if statements; recognize classes and constructors; utilize the principles of object-oriented programming; use logic and code skills to solve programming challenges
  • Pre-requisite required. Students will be contacted by an Instructor to explore suitability
